New Year
Regular readers of this will note that although this is supposed to be my personal blog, there is not actually a lot of personal content in it.
I’ve decided to change this, starting today.
Resolution 0: no use of the backspace key while writing this entry.
So. Resolution 1: Write more in this
People E-mail me. I don’t email back. I just add their message to the list of ones that need to be replied to. I don’t know why I do it, I always have plenty to put in an email to them. I generally like writing, so I don’t know why. Well i do, I’m just not going to write it here.
Resolution 2: Reply to people’s emails. Reply to all the emails currently in the list. This means you may receive some very odd emails from me in the next few days.
Resolution 3: Write more code. Musicians practice, sportsmen train. I should write code. Just to practice.
Resolution 4: Post to the spoke. Once per week. I will start by writing something on SQL after I complete this.
So. Proper blog.
Saw Kong on Monday, with Jo, Matt, and Naomi (think that was her name).
It was a little long, but a surprisingly good film.
I expected it to be a little naff to be honest, but it turned out to be rather good.
**SPOILER ALERT** (highlight to read)
| The basic plot was some movie director finds a map, enlists an out of work actress and a boat crew, goes to the island, get captured, actress is given to kong, kong takes a shine to actress, actress escapes, kong pursues, kong is captured, put in a show, kong gets irritated and goes on a killing spree, finds actress, climbs empire state building, and gets shot down. |
The special effects were pretty good, but there were one or two times when I noticed a few “rough edges” (you would have to be me though to spot them, really technical, nerdy, geeky things).
After, we walked around Oxford for a bit, grabbed lunch at Sainsburies, where I demonstrated that doing computer science does not certify you to use the self service tills, and my fantastic numeracy skills, all within 5 minutes.
Today was WFRP at Chippies (similar, but not entirely akin to D+D). After sentencing Wills character to the bathroom for 16 hours with a Curse spell, I have decided that I may make a better spellcaster than I do rogue.
D+D and Victorias tomorrow. Should be a fun day.
TMX Out.
