Who’s stupid idea was it to *paint* the goddamn sticker! If I didn’t know any better I would say I was on some sort of drug!
Hehehe, Iran lost a bet and has to wax his legs.
I’m not actually updating by the way, I’m just procrastinating. I’ve got 1.5 pages of an essay hidden behind Internet Explorer. Time for coffee.
Bats always turn left when exiting a cave.
Interesting week.
The deadline for the first round of the imagine cup is on wednesday.
As I have never mentioned it in this blog, the imagine cup is a programming and design competition run by microsoft. For the category that me and my team mate Darius are entering, top prize is a cool £8000, and even if we don’t win, so long as we get into the final round, we get to go to India for the final.
Round 2 will probably have some visits to MS UK or something, or training days. All very exciting (and labour intensive).
On top of that, I have an ethics essay due in for monday. Nearly finished that though. We have three scenarios (bill x which caused y, discuss.), and have to talk about moral and legal implications. Exciting stuff.
Some nice news though, I’ve applied to join the MS Windows Vista testing team. If I am successful, I will get a beta copy of MS Windows Vista, the next version of windows to use and abuse. It’s not due out until the end of this year, but from what I have seen, it is going to be awsome.
I’ll write a few posts about it if I can, and show you a few pictures. I’ll be under an NDA though (non-dislocure agreement), so I’m not sure how much detail I’ll be able to go into, as if I break it all my soul are belong to Mr Gates.
I’ve just had a crazy idea. I had some Apple stickers (not the fruit, the computer) which I have decided to stick on the side of my case. However, I thought they were not vibrant enough so I have painted them. The first coat is a little rough but I can scrape it away so it is a clean line with a knife. And if it All Goes Horribly Wrong (R) then I can always peel it off, as it is a sticker.
I bought some metal dice
They own.
I’ve also got a new mobile, as the other one seems to have an issue with running for more than a day on a single charge. D750i, T-Mobile, contract. It may not be the flashiest in existance, but it works. And it was free. Well, aside from the line rental.
I need to learn to type properly. I have a fast, but innefficient method (I make far too many mistakes), and being a computer scientist I should *really* be able to type properly. So I shall start. As of 5 minutes time.
I’m now an official member of the BCS, student grade. It’s like the Masons or the Church of Scientology, the BCS have “levels”. Student is the lowest of the low, below even computer enthusiast (apparently, you need a degree to be an enthusiast :/). Still, once I complete my degree I will skip past a load of levels.
I can’t think of anything else to write, so I won’t. I’ll just leave you with a random link.

An Earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale hit Kingston upon Hull this Wednesday morning. The epicentre was Bransholme. Casualties were seen wandering aimlessly saying “o me belongeens ar brock” “worapend” and “ar conner bayleeve eet”.
The earthquake decimated the area causing in excess of £17.55 worth of damage. Several priceless collections of mementos from Ibiza, Corfu, Rhyll and Blackpool were damaged beyond repair. Preserved areas of historic importance were destroyed and cars burned out. Many locals were woken before their Giro’s arrived. One resident, Kylie Sharon Smith, a 15 year old mother of four said “It was such a f**ckin shock, little Chardonnay-Destiny came running into my bedroom crying; my hands were shaking that much I could hardly skin-up.”
The British Red Cross has so far managed to send 4000 crates of Sunny Delight to the area to help with the crisis. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found numerous “Elizabeth Duke” sovereign rings, benefit books and Poundstretcher ornaments.
How can you help?
This appeal hopes to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in the disaster. Clothing is most sought after. Urgently needed are Lacoste tracksuits, white socks, Burberry caps, Beanie hats and Rockports. Food parcels are also needed. They include McCain oven chips, Aldi Beans, Monster Munch and Iceland pizza. Alcohol is also in short supply, especially White Lightening Cider and Special Brew. Cash donations are also needed. 22p buys a signing-on’ biro, £2.50 buys a Jumbo sausage dinner, £20.00 buys a fake MOT and £16.00 buys 200 Regal from the back of Tomo’s lorry.

Made me laugh a little more than it usually does (probably because it’s true).
For the uninitiated, grinding == doing a menial task repeatedly until you gain enough skill points to gain a level. (I.e. cooking loads of quick food to get your cooking skill up, lighting hundreds of fires to get firelighting up etc)
Edit: I’m going to steal something from somebody elses blog, at least every three days i’ll post a random picture/link/fact/joke. This is the first of many
